Hi! I’m Liv, aka The Crafty Hermit Crab!
I started crafting as a young homeschooled Florida kid, got busy, and then at 18 I started dabbling with everything that interested me when I was young, and realized how much I love to craft. I learned how to crochet at a work party by another crafter named Olivia, who later introduced me to a craft guild. I started by making a blanket.
I moved to Knoxville in 2019, and started trying new things often. I got really into embroidery and cross-stitch, and about a year later I found inspiration while visiting my brother who had handmade items. I started crocheting a blanket on the drive home, and once arriving home I borrowed my housemate’s sewing machine, got some fabric, and whipped up a quilt. This inspiration was not going anywhere, so I found an old sewing machine to call my own and have been sewing and crocheting ever since!
I taught crochet at an assisted living facility throughout 2022, and in 2023 I started vending at craft markets. Now I’m here!
